Right boob on the loose !

I've been lax at updating on here, so I am running a bit behind !

Wednesday 14th - Makeup Practise

My makeup game had become a bit stale, and I was slacking on it really. I had bought some proper false lashes to try - I didn't like the magnetic ones I tried before. I got some more expensive glue for them as well, rather than relying on the cheap stuff that comes with them.

I figured I would spend some time trying to get them on, as I really wanted to be able to do them for the next big socials- LFF / Sparkle.

So I spent a leisurely 1hr 30 minutes getting ready, I was also practising metallic eye shadow and also blusher as well.  I had bought some eyelid primer to help with the eye shadow - "Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion".

I watched a video on how to use eye shadow primer, and it said to ensure to put normal foundation over the top, otherwise there will be a noticeable colour difference between the two. It seemed a bit counter productive, but it seemed to work OK.

Lashes went on OK, I used the smallest ones in the box. I was pretty chuffed with the results !

Thursday 15th - Trans-Wakefield

We were in the Café again - I can't remember if I said, we've switched to doing two evenings per month in there.

There were not as many people there this time, but I got to speak to some that I had not done much before. Phillipa was back again, she seemed to be feeling a bit better.

It was a pleasant evening, I was given a birthday card when I left, which was unexpected. I was intending to go to Invasion the next night, so I decided to head straight home instead of joining them in the pub, as I wanted to pack.

Friday 16th - Nottingham Invasion

I really really wanted a night out, so I was very keen on going to the Invasion this month.

I got ready at home, and I attempted to repeat my success of the previous day with the lash application - made a total mess of them, and ended up giving up on them 😢

Due to the unfortunate events in Nottingham, the hotel prices seemed lower than normal, so I was able
to bag a room in the Hilton for £90 (a cosy double).  Joanna had wanted to meet up to give me something, so I suggested she meet me at my hotel just after my expected ETA.

I drove down and parked up at the Victoria Centre North car park , and plugged into the chargers there. I was going to be naughty and block a charger all night, as I wouldn't be sober enough to move the car after it had finished. But they are usually all empty soon after the shopping centre closes anyway.

Met Joanna in reception, and got my free glass of bubbly from the reception, then I went on a bit of a walk to find my room. There were lots of doors, I was right at the back somewhere. The room was nice though, and although cosy had everything I needed.  I did a quick 5 minute outfit change, met back up with Joanna and headed into the Mc Donalds next to the hotel for a quick Mc Plant to help soak up the alcohol I planned on consuming.

We headed to the Foresters which was pretty empty, and headed outside where we  met up with Simone.

It seemed it was just going to be the three of us for a while, but I had seen some FB questions from two of the Chameleons girls , Gemma and Natasha who were on there way.  We went back inside after a while and found they had arrived and they were sat inside with a regular and a new lady.

Joanna left as she had to be up early, and we headed outside to sit at a table in the fab lower area. A few more turned up and joined us there, a trans guy Kendrick who was lovely, Jean, Imogen and Lizzy.

We all had a really good time chatting, I got some nice compliments on my Shein dress, some mock anger that I was able to fit into it, as they also wanted the same one, but it wasn't in their size.

Some new younger people came over and joined us - one had sort of talked to me earlier in the evening, but I wasn't really sure if they were a chaser to start with. I felt a bit guilty about that later.

Jean and Simone left, then Imogen and Lizzy and it was just the two younger ones, Kendrick, Gemma and Natasha and myself left. Me and Kendrick were fairly sober still, we had a good chat about music, he was really nice.

Gemma was a bit worse for wear, towards the end, and Natasha was not exactly sober, but I couldn't really do much to help, they both got home OK in the end though.  I had joked with Kendrick that I would never forgive him if he left me on my own to deal with them - he left anyway 🤣

I left shortly after him, and he was still outside waiting for a cab, so I got to say goodbye at least.

I wobbled back to the hotel, via a takeaway to get some cheesy chips, unfortunately they only had 'cheese on chips' which is not quite the same. But I still managed to eat
most of it.

I got back to the room at 2:30am looking at the time I took a picture of my chips - which is mandatory.

I did notice that it was a lot quieter than normal, both in the Foresters, but also on the walk back to the hotel. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon !

Didn't bother with breakfast in the morning, and was able to get home before lunch. I popped into my local Co-op on the way back (still en femme) for bacon and bread, so I could at least have some fried greasy food.

Tuesday 20th - Makeup Practise, outfit try on

With my failure on the lashes on the Friday, I decided I should re-try.  I bought some different tweezers , and I watched some more YouTube videos for tips.

I also wanted to try some different bra options for a halter neck dress I had bought. It's possibly a bit too big for me, but I will wear it anyway. I have a halter neck bra, and I also bought some clear straps for my multiway one.

The multiway looks better, but I had an incident where I needed to bend over to pick something up and my right boob fell out !! - well more than one incident actually. So I may go with the halter neck bra.

It went well this time, I got the lashes on OK - I wasn't able to re-use the set I had tried for Invasion, they were ruined, caked in glue. So I went for the next size up.

I was also trying some KIKO Lipstick, colour : 421  , which I really like ! An Insta friend was raving about it.

Weekend Plans

It's my Birthday tomorrow (23rd) , and I am going to Stockport Beer and Cider festival with two trans friends who also went to the Lincoln one. Bagged a cheap room so I can enjoy a few. Probably going to wear the dress I tried on Tuesday for the day. But we are also planning on going glamorous for the evening, just to stand out a bit more - so I am taking sequin ones for that.

Hopefully it will be a nice day/night.

Tingly feelings

It's not been a bad week, work has been fairly relaxed, no major problems.

Thursday: Chameleons

As per the previous time I attended I was really looking forward to going. Some new boots had been delivered that day - chunky low ones, over the knee but not by lots.  I was struggling to find a dress that was suitably short so as to enable the top to be seen, but not covered. One of my cheap
Everything5Pounds one came to the rescue.

I got down a bit early and met up with Ann and someone who had been to a previous one in January. Another newbie turned up shortly afterwards, and we all had a nice chat about transition status/plan - or not plan.  The first lady had a lovely voice - had professional coaching, and I managed to get the details from her over Instagram the day after. It was really very convincing. She also mentioned another hormone provider I had not known about, so I've added this to the list of potential options I am gathering.

There was general chatting for a while, and we did observe a minutes silence outside for Brianna Ghey. We had written notes which were burnt as a bit of ritual to enable our private thoughts to be expressed. It was nice that we did that as a group.

We did some more chatting and it was getting towards 11pm before I left, I got home around 00:30am. Was very tired the next day.

Friday: Catch up with a friend

I was really tired, and my digestive system wasn't being too great for some reason. I didn't get a lot done at work, but not many people needed anything, so it was an OK day.  I had arranged to meet up with an old friend after work, and figured I would probably feel better after a drink, so headed out after I had 'clocked off'.

Met at his and we walked up to his local working men's club.  I am not that keen about going out in man mode any more, especially somewhere very manly, but it's got a pool table and the beer is cheap. I had taken my earrings out, so as not to appear to be too weird. Probably not necessary, but I didn't want to stand out. I feel the hair does, but not much I can do about that.

Not really been out with him too much since coming out to him, and had not talked to his wife at all since then either, so was a little nervous.

Beat him at pool, two games out of three, I had a Johns Smiths then a Coke as was driving, and we wandered back to his, as he had offered dinner too.

It was really nice was just him and his wife, the kids had eaten, we had a lovely chat as if nothing had changed. It was getting quite late before I departed. It was just nice that it obviously hadn't changed anything between us, and that his wife was also very friendly too.

It was a very pleasant evening , two in a row, and was feeling very happy when I got home - and still am :)

Saturday: Playing with makeup and outfit try-ons

My wife is busy with her hobbies this weekend, leaving me at home with the kids, so I took advantage of the extra free time to have a bit of a play with items bought but never used / worm.

Gold lipstick for instance, had this ages, but never used it, doesn't seem to come out well in photos, but the shimmer up close was nice.

I also did some glossy blusher, but the shade I used isn't really popping, I might try a darker one next time.

After tea I decided to get rid of the gold lipstick and give some 'Pout Bomb' lip gloss a go, this had been purchased at Chameleons before xmas I think.  As I type this my lips are tingling, they perhaps look a little bit more pouty, I don't look like I've had lip fillers or anything drastic though. They are nice and glossy at least, it's a sort of hot pink colour I think. The tingling is somewhat strange, but not majorly off-putting.

I also took a load of photo's for Instagram of course, I think I did 6 outfits. It's nice to mess around and see what works well together without the time pressure of having to finish to go somewhere. It does relax me, and I have fun doing it.

I should really practise my makeup more, I get in a rut with things and stop learning, it's not really advance a great deal recently.

Tommorow, I hope to get out for a run, I need to keep up with regular excercise !

Eyebrows and social updates

Eyebrows

These were something I really worried about when I was first starting to go out. Using glue to cover, and templates to draw back on. I have plucked mine fairly drastically, and had been free styling drawing over them with a brown eyebrow pencil and wavy felt tip with 5 points to simulate hairs.

But I wasn’t that pleased with them. So I have been looking at different techniques, and stumbled across this video demonstration. The lady they did it on had fairly bushy eyebrows and it didn’t seem that good, but when I did it on my own I was pleased with the results :

Trying to do this from now on, will see what feedback I get. I also need to experiment with making the ends more pointy - I've bought brushes and powder but not tried yet.

I also did try some more discrete nail varnish, it's sort of stone coloured, doesn't stand out much at all. Wore it in man mode to Asda without even thinking.

Saturday Night (15th Oct)

I felt the need to be sociable, so figured I would try the Wakefield bar that the
Trans-Wakefield meeting is normally held in, perhaps just go for a few drinks and see if could engage with anyone.

I had been once before on a random night, but it turned out to be a birthday party for the group leader that night, and so ended up with the group again. Not that I am trying to avoid them, but it is nice to talk to non-trans people too.

I got a drink and then sat down on my own, and ended up on my phone. Realised I had a big credit card bill to pay, so ended up sorting my finances for a while.

After a while one of the regulars had noticed me, and decided to come over and talk to me, a lady called Magenta – she loves Rocky Horror :)

So began my welcome into the group of regulars, she took me under her wing and made me feel very welcome. We chatted for a long time, about her youth and coming out as a lesbian at school, and myself about my own situation. It was really nice.

There was a drag act on that night too, with some lip sync battles, I was thinking of heading off, but she had been roped into performing, and wanted me to stay to watch – so I did. She was quite good, but she didn’t seem to think so :)

So I was still there at 1am when the bar stopped serving. The older drag queen came over and chatted, and did invite me to go to a club with them all – but I figured I best go home, as was pretty tired. Definitely going to try and stay out longer with them next time.

Thursday (20th Oct)

This was the normal Trans-Wakefield meetup. It started pretty slow, the people I would normally talk to were not there, so I had to try and talk with some others. They are all mainly a lot younger than me, aside from the leader and one other lady. So I don’t find it that easy.

We ended up sat around the corner from the main bar, playing an online game that involves a statement with requires one of more rude - or not politically correct answers from a set of virtual cards you are dealt. ( https://cardsagainstonline.com/ )

It was quite fun – but did mean we didn’t participate in the Quiz, or mingle much with the regulars. So I didn’t get much chance to talk to Magenta again, although I did wave. I am thinking of going back this coming Saturday night.

Friday (21st)

This was the Nottingham invasion, I had a hotel room booked for the first time –
the Premier on Goldsmith street. Normally I drive, sip coke all night, and then head home sometime after midnight. But I fancied giving it a proper chance as a night out, and having some social lubricant. It was a pretty good night. Ann was coming along too which was nice, as she is lovely to talk with – and also she had recovered my charging cable too, so I needed to get that back.

I got ready pretty quickly, and go down there for 7:30pm, and managed to get checked in OK. The premier inn wasn’t that far from the venue, so was able to get there for 8:00ish. Met up with Rebecca, and Ann and a new girl Sophie who I had not spoken to before. Simone, Danielle, Dee, Helen and Gabby showed up a bit later.

We had a few in there, then Simone had decided to get a few of us out invading, so a group of I think 7 of us ended up going out to a few pubs. The first place was the “Six Barrel Drafthouse” a sort of hipster place, IPA’s mainly, the bar man was trying to be nice – he asked us what it was like to be a woman ….. how do you answer that really.

Then we did a walk into the centre and went to a sort of clubby type bar “Revolution Cornerhouse”. It was a bit hard to talk, so Ann and myself left a bit early, and went back to the New Foresters via KFC. I hadn’t eaten much so was pretty hungry. It was really slow service in there.

I stayed at the pub for another hour, then decided to head back to the hotel, said my goodbyes and got back without incident.

Had a nice cooked breakfast in the morning, then decided to have a mooch around the town centre for a bit, partly to make sure I was OK to drive. Had a look around M&S for tights as I had laddered my black ones the previous week, but didn’t see any I liked.

Set off home around 11am, stopping off at the “Hickorys Smokehouse” at Nuthall to charge my car.
